Introduction
Why another beer guide? I hear you all ask. Well quite simply, the
ones available just don't do their job. They are either out of date, out
of touch or not comprehensive enough for the discerning drinker. That is
why we created the Cask Ale Drinker, with it's local base and support from
a web site and forum we can access all the opinions and concerns of the
local pub clientele.
CAD is based in the Louth area and encompasses an area of roughly a
ten mile radius of that point including some areas on the edge of great
drinking interest. We are passionate about our beer and spend much of our
free time searching out the best pubs and the finest beers around the
area.
Our main aim is to promote cask ale and good pubs in the area
providing a point of reference to those new to cask ale as well as the
'old stagers' who have been enjoying a good pint for many years.
C.A.D. should not be confused with any other beer guides
or organisations as we are very different in many ways. We are
totally independent, we have no rules on what is good or bad within the
industry, we will not try to tell you what to drink and what not to drink and more
importantly we are a social group committed to having a good time and not
tied to ticking a lot of boxes.
So you would like to help? Well it's east to join, just go to
the Contacts page and help us promote Cask Ale in the area. We need
volunteers to try out pubs, to write articles or to help out in other ways. If
you feel you just want to support us by joining, that helps too. There
are many overheads running the group and your membership fee will help us
continue but we are non-profit making so we rely on membership and
advertising to continue.
If you wish to know more e-mail or phone. Cheers!
